Poteet High School opened in 1986 as the fourth high school in Mesquite ISD. As the smallest high school in Mesquite ISD, serving 1,800 students from grades 9 to 12, Poteet offers a close-knit and supportive environment where students know they belong. With only one middle school feeding into the campus, students benefit from strong relationships and a deep sense of community that continues throughout their high school years.
Poteet provides a wide variety of academic and extracurricular opportunities, encouraging students to seek new experiences, discover their strengths, and pursue excellence in their own way. Here, every Pirate is empowered to grow, lead, and represent what it means to be Poteet Strong.
