All MISD Seniors: make sure you complete the LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP application to be eligible for several different scholarships. This is the first scholarship listed. Return to Mrs. Martin in the counseling center at PHS.

There are also other potential scholarship opportunities listed below. When applying for a school you should also check out what scholarships they offer to incoming freshmen through the university web page. New scholarships are added as they arrive.

What is FAFSA? 
To apply for federal student aid, such as federal grants, loans, and work-study, you need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Completing and submitting the FAFSA is free and easier than ever, and it gives you access to the largest source of financial aid to pay for college or career school. In addition, many states and colleges use your FAFSA information to determine your eligibility for state and school aid, and some private financial aid providers may use your FAFSA information to determine whether you qualify for their aid. You can start the application process after OCTOBER 1st.

This document must, however, be limited to actual experiences (that is, “interests” do not count as experiences).

2019 WHITE COLLAR DEFENSE DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP The White Collar Defense Diversity Scholarship is offering a $500 scholarship to African American and Hispanic students from single-mother homes who are committed to pursuing a quality education and who have a demonstrated ability for overcoming adversity and challenges related to their backgrounds. 

The scholarship program is open to all African American and Hispanic undergraduate, and law school students as well as incoming college freshmen. The candidate must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Candidate must have a demonstrated financial need.
